There are many ways to root an Android device. You could use a tool called Odin (which I don't even know how to use...), you could download a bunch of tools and try to DIY root it yourself with no experience on ANYTHING that has to do with rooting and flashing, OR, you can root with only one download and one click. I present to you, Kingo ROOT! This is a tool that allows you to fully root your Android device. I recently rooted my Galaxy Tab 3 (which I just reviewed) I am about to put a stock ROM on it. A ROM is basically the whole system that the device runs and uses. If you just bought, say, a Samsung Galaxy S6, you would have a Samsung ROM on it. If you bought a Nexus 9, you would have a Google stock ROM. It all depends on the device manufacturer and what they want the end-user experience to be for their customers. All you have to do to root is to download the Kingo ROOT app on your Windows PC (Sorry, Mac users!), download the app on your Android device, install Kingo ROOT and then connect your device, make sure that it's connected, uncheck the checkbox at the bottom (because it gives you some mod thing that nobody wants.), and click ROOT. It will take a good 10-20 minutes, so sit back, relax, play a game, enjoy some dinner, maybe. When it's done, your device will be rooted! Just unplug your device, reboot , and then download some basic root-only apps. Root Checker is the best root app that is available. It checks to see if you have root, it can tell you what root is and what it can do for you, and it can give you some recommendations for some root-only apps. SuperUser is a great app too (although the Kingo SuperUser app will come preinstalled). My favorite and all time #1 app for rooted devices is Flashify. It's FREE on the Google Play Store. It can flash (install) any ROM, recovery image (the place where you can install the ROMs), any ZIP files (the ROMs and mods themselves), and any boot image (boot animations/sounds) you want. It does it all within the app and there is no need for complicated steps and the boring "click on this, click on that, reboot this, partition that" tutorials that you would find elsewhere. I have included some screenshots at the end of this post. Here is a screenshot of Kingo ROOT: This next photo is a screenshot of Flashify: Thank you for reading this post and I hope that anyone that has an Android device that's slowing them down or is causing trouble for them should use these tools to make better use of their devices.

If you look at the pages of this blog by clicking that button at the top right, you will see that the Games section is gone. I know what you're thinking, "WHERE IS THE GAMES SECTION?!?!?!?!?!?!?". Let me reassure you. The gaming section is gone, but it will now be seamless with the regular blog.. The Reviews section will still be there, but the Games section will not.
THIS IS A SPECIAL TrendingTech PSA: The Windows 10 review is in post-producton. I just have to add a few things. I know some people have been wondering about that and I am here to put those wonders to rest. I will post it in a few days. Anyway, thanks for looking at this post, and see you all in the next one. |
